Beautiful People

People want to be beautiful. Right? I mean, don’t we all want to be attractive to others? I see people with money spend so much of it on ways to make them more appealing. Today I came across a very powerful quote that sums up what a beautiful person really is.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

I wish I knew where this quote came from so I could give credit. If you know, please share so I can update the article.

Have you ever experienced sitting down to a great meal and you can’t help but indulge yourself to the point of uncomfortableness? Knowing when to stop can be a difficult thing to do, but in doing so you allow yourself to enjoy it more. When you eat too much at dinner, those last few bites don’t taste as good as the first few. Cherish Your Loved Ones

I’m reading about the horrible act of violence that took place in Alabama. A local resident went on a shooting rampage that left nine people dead, the mayor of one of the small towns in the killer’s line of fire was trying to understand how a man he’d known all his life could do such a thing.

The heavily armed shooter, Michael McLendon, took his own life after a 30-mile rampage across two counties. Among those he killed were his grandmother, uncle, niece and cousin. Police also suspect he burned down his mother’s house with her inside. (more…)

A Dog’s Purpose

The following was an e-mail sent to me from my Mom. After reading it, I felt I had a better understanding on life and what our purpose is. Take a moment to read the following with an open mind.

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. (more…)

Smiling is Important

As the saying goes “It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile”. With that being said, I want to take the opportunity to express how important it is to smile every day. It can communicate feelings such as: love, happiness, pride, contempt, and embarrassment.

Smiling not only makes you stand out, but it also helps your body to function better. Smiling improves your health, your stress level and your attractiveness. You may not know it, but we are drawn to people who smile. We see a person smiling and want to know what is so good. (more…)
