When it comes to long distance, most people think phone calls and how much it will cost to call their loved one or friend. I have been in a long distance relationship for 6 months and never did I think it would become this difficult. We are roughly 1,000 miles away from each other.

At first it wasn’t so bad and I believe it was because we were still getting to know one another. Granted it’s only been 6 months, but in that short amount of time we got really close and fell in love. We’ve been to Disney World, Universal Studios and enjoyed the night life together. I’m reading about the horrible act of violence that took place in Alabama. A local resident went on a shooting rampage that left nine people dead, the mayor of one of the small towns in the killer’s line of fire was trying to understand how a man he’d known all his life could do such a thing.

As the saying goes “It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile”. With that being said, I want to take the opportunity to express how important it is to smile every day. It can communicate feelings such as: love, happiness, pride, contempt, and embarrassment.

Smiling not only makes you stand out, but it also helps your body to function better. Smiling improves your health, your stress level and your attractiveness. You may not know it, but we are drawn to people who smile. We see a person smiling and want to know what is so good. (more…)

December 22nd, 2008

“Be still”, two words that I have always associated with the negative.  Maybe because my grandmother always said ,”be still” as I was fidgeting in church.  I am finding practicing stillness has become a fun part of my day.  Stillness can happen anywhere at anytime, even in a crowded room.  Stillness is finding peace in the moment. Painting Your World

Your world… your Universe is what you make it.

Take what I just said into deep thought. You surround yourself with what you want. If you choose to live a happy life, you think of positive things. You may be the person who says “I have the worst luck ever.” No, there’s no luck, there’s you. You may not know it, but what happens is you think negative thoughts and attract the badness to you.

Let me use my life as an example. (more…)
